The Arc Otsego Recognizes Local Employers

 Bassett Healthcare and Robynwood Home for Adults are for the first two recipients of the “Above and Beyond” award given by Community Employment Services of The Arc Otsego.  The “Above and Beyond” award recognizes employers who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to support individuals with disabilities to be successful in their jobs, and to become valued and integrated members of the workforce. 

 According to Dayle LeFleur, Community Employment Services Coordinator, both Bassett Healthcare and Robynwood Home for Adults have clearly demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting employees with disabilities.  “Both organizations have encouraged individuals in their employ who have disabilities to acquire new skills while accommodating individual differing capabilities.  At the same time, both Bassett Healthcare and Robynwood Home for Adults have recognized the value and benefits of a diversified workforce.”

 Community Employment Services, which assists individuals with developmental disabilities to find meaningful community employment, will continue to recognize employers throughout the year.  The Arc Otsego, a chapter of NYSARC, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit organization working with and for people with developmental disabilities and their families throughout Otsego County.
