Exhibit Gallery Hrs., T-Sat 11-3 pm
Voice! is a juried art exhibition of work celebrating the creative voices of artists with intellectual and/or other developmental disabilities from across New York State. Now in its seventh year, the exhibit, which is sponsored by The Arc Otsego, has featured the work of well over 200 artists and has awarded over $5,000 in prize money. Last year’s exhibit, held at SUNY College of Oneonta’s Martin-Mullen Art Gallery, was the largest yet- showcasing artwork by almost 70 artists representing 22 counties in New York State. And last year’s opening was attended by over 200 people! Most importantly, Voice! never fails to joyfully, exuberantly and thoughtfully remind us of the power of art to transcend disability and stereotypes to reveal our common ground and celebrate our unique abilities.
Just like any dynamic, creative entity, Voice! keeps growing and changing! Prizes: This year we will award $1,300 in prize money. While first prize is still $300, second and third prize amounts have been increased and we have added a fourth prize and honorable mention in place of two honorable mentions (both of which have also increased in value.) New submission date: May 23. This is earlier than in past years so please plan accordingly.
First Prize $300
Second prize $250
Third Prize $200
Fourth Prize $150
Honorable Mention $100
Curator’s Award $50
Juror’s Award (2) $50 Spirit Award (2) $50
