Power in Members

You’ve heard of the phrase “Power in Numbers.” But…what’s in a number?

52: Number of years The Arc Otsego has been in operation
500: Number of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities The Arc Otsego serves
65: Number of individuals who participate in the agency’s 16 residential programs
30: Number of years Executive Director Patricia Knuth has been employed with The Arc Otsego
  • 276: Number of individuals served across the agency’s six day programs
  • 104: Number of combined years served by the eight members of The Arc Otsego’s Board of Directors
  • 260: Number of staff members employed by The Arc Otsego

While all of these numbers are important, perhaps the most vital number of all is the number of members we have, as this translates directly to our voting representation on the NYSARC Board of Governors. NYSARC is our parent organization and a powerful voice in advocating at the state level for the needs and desires of people with developmental disabilities. It is this number that really helps us to make a difference and to continue to be able to do what we do each and every day. It is because of this number that we say that we have power in members.

Members of The Arc Otsego are members of NYSARC, as well as of The Arc of the United States, a national organization advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, serving over 700 state and local chapters throughout the country.
