The Arc Otsego Names Employee of the 1st Quarter 2010

Cesily Secoolish, Community Job Coach, Named Employee of the 1st Quarter 2010

Cesily Secoolish, Community Job Coach, has been named The Arc Otsego Employee of the 1st quarter for 2010.  Secoolish has worked for The Arc Otsego for several years, first as a Day Habilitation Site Coordinator and then as a Community Job Coach in the Community Employment Services Division.

As a Community Job Coach, Secoolish is responsible for providing support to individuals with disabilities as they seek to obtain and maintain community employment.  Secoolish works with both the individual and the employer to ensure a smooth transition to the workplace and the achievement of a successful work partnership.

According to a peer nominator, Secoolish’s self-motivation, enthusiasm, positive flow of energy and compassion set her apart.  “Cesily works with some individuals who have substantial barriers to successful employment.  She is calm, patient and compassionate and truly listens to the individual’s concerns.  By taking these same qualities to her interactions with employers, Cesily is able to achieve on-going, committed, cooperative work partnerships.”

Assistant Executive Director, Pat Knuth, states that Secoolish is willing to go the extra mile.  “When a supported worker was going to be honored in New York City, Cesily traveled there with him, making sure he was safe and that he was supported throughout the event.  She always strives to provide whatever is needed and is well respected by her co-workers and local community employers.  She is a wonderful advocate for the people she serves and an outstanding representative for The Arc Otsego.”
