The Arc Otsego Names Employee of the 2nd Quarter 2010

Marilyn Habercorn Named Employee of the 2nd Quarter

Hartwick Day Habilitation- you walk through the doorway- the room is festive, bright and inviting.  You are enjoying the creative handiwork of Marilyn Habercorn, The Arc Otsego 2010 Employee of the Second Quarter.

Marilyn began work at The Arc Otsego as a Hab Assistant in 2005.  One year later, she was promoted to IPC/Instructor at Hartwick Day Hab and has been doing a great job ever since.

According to one nominator, Marilyn comes to work early, stays late to finish a job or meet a deadline, is dependable and flexible and has excellent working relationships with her supervisor, the employees she supervisors and with the people she supports.  Another noted that “Marilyn is always willing to help out to cover a room, help in a behavior crisis, complete paperwork or plunge a toilet.”

Most importantly, Marilyn is very consumer focused.  In her dual role of IPC and instructor, Marilyn makes sure that consumers have new and exciting activities to do both within the Day Hab and the community and she makes sure that her room’s staffing patterns maximize service quality and safety.

Above all and through it all, Marilyn is warm, friendly and a great listener.  The caring and dedication that she manifests daily toward consumers, staff and Hartwick Day Hab as a whole, and her focus on excellence are the reasons that Marilyn Habercorn has been selected as The Arc Otsego 2010 Employee of the Second Quarter.  Congratulations Marilyn!
