“We welcome opportunities to improve and expand our partnerships with individuals, their families, communities, and local business.”
Back in 1965, a local group of parents, friends and professionals envisioned a world where individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities could live healthy and fulfilling lives – just like everyone else in society. To help assure that reality, they established The Arc Otsego, a chapter of The Arc New York.
We have come a long way in the past fifty years! People are much more involved in making decisions about their own lives, services are available across the entire life spectrum, and supports make it possible for individuals and their families to participate fully in the life of their communities.
As we celebrate our accomplishments and the many strides that have been made, we cannot become complacent. In the current environment, we face political, social and fiscal challenges that continually jeopardize our services. It is vital that we remain flexible and resilient as we move forward, aware that so many individuals an their families depend on our ability to successfully navigate this time of transition.
As always, we at The Arc Otsego welcome opportunities to improve and expand our partnerships with individuals, their families, communities, and local businesses. With our Mission Statement as our guiding philosophy, we are ready to move confidently into our next half-century.
