What can you do at The Arc Otsego’s Adult Day Services?
How about enjoy lasting friendships? Explore the community? Learn ways to be healthier? Have access to nursing, and occupational and speech therapy? You can do all of these things and more!
Our goal at Adult Day Services is to help each individual achieve his or her dreams, while promoting self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth within each person’s life and the community. Our community-based day habilitation and day treatment sites, located throughout Otsego County, offer many opportunities for exploration and involvement in a variety of activities. From the arts to gardening, to cooking, to exercising, to volunteering in the community, to vising malls, restaurants, movies and other attractions, our person-centered approach lets each individual create a program tailored to his or her needs and desires.
In addition to Day Habilitation and Day Treatment options, we offer additional opportunities to explore and grow through our Day Hab Without Walls program.
Exploring the Community
We are always looking for ways to be involved in the surrounding community and have recently partnered with The Unite Way of Otsego County. Individuals volunteer in a number of different ways including: delivering senior meals, collating and shredding paperwork for different businesses, participating in community wide events as well as the Otsego County Fair, doing yard work and light house work, and cleaning up local parks.
With the help of a Mary Frawley Grant, Adult Day Services planted and raised a flower garden and then created arrangements of the harvested flowers to give to deserving individuals throughout the area. Each spring we looks forward to adding to the garden!
We also enjoy trips to local attractions, museums, restaurants, sight-seeing, bolwing, hiking, sports, laser tag, dancing and shopping. If the weather is favorable, we are on the go! We are always looking for new and exciting things to do and experience.
